Cary Grant has been one of America's favorite movie stars for years. When you think of classic actors, Cary Grant is sure to be on that list.
This portrait is a combination of dry-brush and pencil. I really am enjoying dry brush because it's faster than charcoal and more resilient. Charcoal is one of my favorite mediums but it is messy and can be rubbed off if touched. Fixative is applied to charcoal drawings to help seal them. With dry-brush, this step is eliminated. Since dry-brush is the use of oil paint, I feel better about using white paint for the eyes. Still working on my technique, keep checking back to see what develops next.
